Join Donkey Kong and sidekick Diddy in a whole new side-scrolling adventure. View larger. Gameplay Like earlier Donkey Kong Country games, Donkey Kong Country Returns is a side-scrolling platformer, but although the game contains classic references, as well as levels and activities reminiscent of earlier games in the series, it is far from a remake. In fact, Donkey Kong Country Returns stands very much on its own not only in its nearly 3D status, but also in its new visual treatment and control scheme. The game features the familiar team of Donkey Kong and his little buddy Diddy Kong. The goal is make your way across Donkey Kong Island collecting bananas and search for hidden items as you swing on vines, ride mine carts and more as you avoid the variety of enemies and situations set against you. New silhouette graphical treatment of both game heroes and enemies in certain levels also introduces new challenges, as players must perform all actions from within an entirely new perspective. The game also features the players choice of either the Wii Remote/Nunchuk controller configuration, or a sideways oriented Wii Remote. In addition to simple navigation and jumping movements, the Wii Remote also allows for a variety of other actions, including: ground pounds, rolls and even air blowing with simple, yet timed shaking of the remote. In addition, the game also contains fun and user-friendly co-op functionality. In co-op mode players take on the role of either Donkey Kong or Diddy. Both characters have abilities of their own, but work together. Beyond this the game takes possibilities for cooperation even further, especially with players of different skill levels, as Diddy can if need be simply rest on Donkey Kong's shoulder and let him do all the work at times. In the event of death, either character can also be revived by the other by hitting a Donkey Kong barrel within the game. The game also continues the series' use of additional animal friends such as Rambi the Rhino, who can serve as a battering ram and can be ridden in certain areas of the game. Key Game Features Retro Studios faithfully restores everything that made the original series great, from barrel cannons to mine carts, and then builds on those elements with stunning graphics and new layers of depth to the world and game play. The game offers the traditional side-scrolling experience everyone loved, but with levels created in fully rendered 3D environments.Diddy Kong joins the quest. With his trusty backpack, he can produce a jet pack or Peanut Pop Guns to give Donkey Kong more abilities. For the first time ever, the franchise features the ability for two people to play together at the same time - one as Donkey Kong, one as Diddy Kong. Players can navigate the levels separately or as one unit. Diddy Kong can ride on Donkey Kong's back and hop off whenever he pleases, allowing novice players to ride on Donkey Kong's back through more challenging areas of the game.*Hidden items, puzzle pieces and other surprises are found all through the jungle. Spell out K-O-N-G by the end of each level to earn an extra bonus.Motion controls give players a real feeling of control. Players move Donkey Kong using the Control Stick on the Nunchuk controller and can shake the Wii Remote controller to make Donkey Kong slap the ground.Vibrant colors, beautiful graphics and fun characters draw players in. Even people who have never played a Donkey Kong game before can pick up a controller and start collecting loads of bananas.Every level offers new fun and new challenges. Sometimes Donkey Kong is running through the jungle, sometimes his action takes place on a tropical beach and other times he must become a master of timing as he jumps chasms in a mine cart.Additional Screenshots Familiar actions & environments. Epic Mickey ![]() Excite Truck ![]() The Wii's 4x4 title goes off-road and flies high! Use the Wii remote to control your rig in mid-air. View larger. Multiple racing modes allow for different types of challenges. View larger. Rigs of all shapes and designs are featured. View larger. Steer by using the Wii remote like a wheel! View larger. Arcade excitement, arcade feel Excite Truck doesn't hide the fact that it's an arcade racer. You won't be modifying your rig with aftermarket parts or racing to win the heart of some flag-waving girl. You will, however, go fast- very fast. It would be easy to stay on the dirt path that defines the race track, but if you plan on truly winning in Excite Truck, you have to go off road and in the air. Your true success in each race is based on a star system. The more stars you get by performing stunts, drifts and more, the better your rank. Netting lots of stars is not for the feint of heart. You'll need to cruise through fields of trees, launch yourself high in the air, hang on around curves for dear life and smash the daylights out of other trucks. All this and you still want to finish the race in first place. Turbo originality As with the game's spiritual predecessor, the NES classic Excitebike, you can turbo to your heart's content, but if you push the envelope too far, your rig will overheat, causing you to stall until it cools down. If you smash into a tree, go to far into the water or come face-to-face with a rock known as a mountain, you'll need to mash the 2 Button to right your truck and get back on the road. The Wii-unique aspect of Excite Truck is the way you hold the Remote. Instead of its traditional vertical configuration, you hold it in a horizontal fashion, like the center bar of a steering wheel. You move the remote in the same fashion that you would a car steering wheel, tilting your right hand up if you want to turn left and your left hand up if you want to go right. When your truck goes airborne, its front end will lean toward the ground if you tilt the Remote away from you, and if you tilt the Remote toward to, your truck's front end will point up, allowing you to catch a little more air. If you catch enough air, you can try to pull off a 720 and, if you're daring enough, a 1080. The more midair spins you can perform, the more stars you earn. Plus, remember tilting your arms while playing Excitebike to try to make your character land a huge jump? Now that move will actually affect the game in Excite Truck. "Raze" the track The game features a Dynamic Terrain power-up. When you drive over this symbol, the road ahead changes, sometimes it plows upward to give you an extra hill to jump off. Other times, the terrain can sink, sometimes exposing water that can cool off an overheating engine. If you time the Dynamic Terrain activation just right, you can earn stars by sending racers out in front of you for an unexpected flight. Excite Truck's tracks also contain POW power-ups. This gives you clutch invincibility as you dare to go off the road and into the woods for a star-flooded tree run. Excite Truck lets you customize the in-game music you race to. Download an MP3 to an SD card and explore Excite Truck's sound options to hear the tunes you want. The speed of the game is one thing, going fast to tunes that get you pumped up makes the game a pulse-pounding experience. GTI Club Supermini Festa! ![]() House of the Dead: Overkill ![]() Illvelo Wii ![]() Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition ![]() Kirby's Epic Yarn ![]() Kirby's tendency for gobbling up items has set off another chain events. This time it has to do with an odd looking tomato-like object. Looking utterly delicious, down it goes. The problem is that it belongs to an evil wizard who reacts by sending Kirby to another dimension where everything, and everyone, even Kirby, are made of yarn. But that is a decision that the Wizard may yet regret, as Kirby joins forces with new friends in the strange land to unravel the plot of the wizard. A Kirby gameplay experience like none before it. View larger. Gameplay Like all Kirby games, Epic Yarn is a side-scrolling platformer, but gameplay is different in this adventure. In its gameworld, everything is made of yarn or fabric, including Kirby and the game levels themselves. Kirby is of course pursued by the minions of the evil wizard that sent him to the gameworld, but in this world Kirby does not swallow enemies to dispatch them. Instead he uses a whip of yarn to stun them. Curled into the shape of a yarn ball, he can then toss them at additional enemies and/or obstacles. Kirby's movements are different as well. He no longer floats the way he did in previous games. Instead he glides in parachute form, or takes the shape of vehicles such as a train, a top, a truck, a UFO, a tank and others that are appropriate for the challenge at hand. Throughout the gameplay area are hidden beads, that if maintained, maximize points. There are also hidden levels that are revealed as Kirby pulls on zippers and loose threads encountered. Standard level progression is achieved via a series of patches that players receive on completion of levels. These are added to a tapestry by Kirby which results in the next level being revealed. The game also features two-player co-op through the entire game in which the second player takes on the role of an additional character from the game and works together with Kirby to access new areas. Key Game Features Kirby's first home console platform game since the Nintendo 64.Pulling on stray threads might reveal hidden areas. When Kirby literally goes behind the scenes, the virtual fabric warps and bends to show his location. Thanks to his versatile yarn composition, Kirby can take on a variety of forms both in his common actions and when he transforms into powerful vehicles.A co-op gameplay option allows two players can play through the entire game together.Gems and collectible items are scattered throughout the environments for players to find.Additional Screenshots Creative in-game art style.
